Battery Life
And most importantly it is extremely lightweight. And here’s where the Arya gives you an opportunity to customize according to your specific needs. There are two different batteries available. The smaller 8 cell battery provides up to 4 hours of operation on a setting of 2. With the 8 cell, the machine is 7.3 inches wide and 10 inches tall and weighs just 5 pounds. The larger 16 cell battery adds about an inch in height and about a pound of weight but provides twice the operation time. At just 6 pounds you can get up to 8 hours of battery life on a setting of two. So if you’re just running out for some quick errands you can use the smaller battery and cut the weight down a bit. If you’re going on a long flight or are going to be sitting through a theater performance or leisurely dinner, you can take the bigger battery so you don’t have to worry about running out of oxygen or finding a place to recharge while you’re out enjoying yourself.
Power Sources
In addition to the long lasting battery, the Arya comes with an A/C power cord that can be plugged into any standard wall outlet. It also comes with a D/C power cord that can be plugged into the cigarette lighter on any car, boat, or RV. You can literally drive coast to coast without the worry about running out of oxygen.
Sophisticated Technology
The Arya is equipped with a sophisticated intelligent delivery system. The AutoSense and Auto Sat features work in concert to ensure accurate oxygen dosage delivery. Whether you’re required to wear oxygen 24/7 or just at night or while active, the Arya employs sophisticated technology to ensure that you remain properly titrated.
Pulse flow concentrator doses are triggered by the user's inhalation. While we sleep, it’s not uncommon for our oxygen levels to drop as our breathing slows and becomes more shallow. The Arya’s autosense technology senses when breathing slows and adjusts doses to compensate for this. This is also helpful for users who often breathe through their mouths. If the Arya doesn’t sense a breath through the nasal cannula for several seconds, the Arya will automatically release a bolus dose so the patient can maintain saturation levels.
Very Easy to Use
Though it contains the very latest in medical technology, the Arya is extremely easy to use. The LCD indicator screen on the top of the machine will tell you at a glance, what setting you’re on, and how much battery life you have left. It will also alert you to any service issues that need attention. The typeface is large and easy to see. It illuminates in the dark to make it easy to read in all kinds of light.
Keep in mind that several factors can affect battery life. Battery life is estimated by manufacturers based upon a patient taking about 20 breaths per minute. If you are doing something strenuous you may be taking more breaths per minute which will decrease battery life. Extreme cold can also affect battery duration. With the easy-to-see indicator screen you can monitor your battery life regularly and be sure to recharge or change batteries before you reach critical levels.
To change the flow rate up or down, you'll simply use the plus and minus buttons conveniently located on top of the machine.
