Today's post will be all about the incredibly popular and highly reliable Inogen One G2 portable oxygen concentrator. The G2 is for the medical oxygen patient that doesn't like to be confined to their home, and enjoy's traveling and socializing with friends. With the Inogen One G2 all those things can be accomplished with ease all while still receiving their prescribed amount of supplemental oxygen.

The Inogen One G2

The Inogen One G2 gives patients the freedom to choose the size battery that benefits their type of lifestyle, the two options being a 12 cell or a 24 cell battery will adequately provide the necessary amount of oxygen to any active patient throughout the duration of their day.  The pulse flow G2 will never weigh you down, with a 12 cell battery attached the G2 weighs 7 pounds and with the optional 24 cell battery attached the unit weighs a mere 8.5 pounds. If the shoulder strap is becoming difficult to support then easily switch to the included durable, wheeled traveling cart. If you are a patient that loves to travel you will want to be sure you always have the travel cart just in case that walk through the airport is a little more exhausting than you expected. The petiteness doesn't stop at the weight but instead was extended to the dimensions, at only 10.7" Long x 9.5" Height x 3.9" Width, this can easily be stowed underneath the seat compartment on a plane. Important things to remember about the G2 include:

  • Pulse Flow 1-6
  • FAA Approved
  • A Quiet 38 Decibles on Setting 2
  • O2 Concentration 90% +/- 3%
  • Altitude up to 10,000 Feet

Battery Life

Flow Rate 12 Cell Battery 24 Cell Battery
1 Up to 5 Hours Up to 10 Hours
2 Up to 4 Hours Up to 8 Hours
3 Up to 3 Hours Up to 6 Hours
4 Up to 2 Hours Up to 4 Hours
5 Up to 2 Hours Up to 4 Hours

The fact that the Inogen One G2 portable oxygen machine has the ability of running off two battery size options really separates it from the competition! The 12 cell lithium ion battery is what comes standard with the G2 and will provide up to 5 hours, however if you plan on being away from an outlet for longer then there is the upgraded 24 cell battery which will provide up to 10 hours of oxygen therapy. Forget to charge your battery? No problem, the Inogen One G2 allows patients to charge and power their unit in the car with the DC power supply, this will come in handy during long road trips.

Perfect for Night Use

If you or a loved one is like many oxygen patients and needs their oxygen at night while sleeping, then you will love the intelligent delivery technology in the Inogen One G2. Majority of patients can sleep with this technology, which simply as the breathing rate decreases the G2 increases each bolus dose detecting even shallow breaths at night and triggers a bolus dose based upon the fixed minute volume.
